Clackamas Community College (CCC) at the Oregon City, Oregon campus seeks to hire a Career Pathways Coordinator. This is a grant funded position and is a limited duration with secured funding through June 30, 2025, with the possibility of continuing pending grant renewal/extension. Purpose of Position:

The Career Pathways Coordinator provides direct service to students pursing Career Technical Education pathways certificates at CCC to support the activities and deliverables of the Oregon Health Authority “How To” grant and the Career Pathways grant.  Coordinator serves as a point of contact to support students in accessing, enrolling, and completing certificate and Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs, as well as support students’ transitions to career opportunities. In this role, the Coordinator uses all available tools including meetings, phone, email, etc., to support students with academic and non-academic needs, assist students with navigating college systems, and connect students with various campus resources such as Academic Advising, Counseling, Disability Resource Center, Financial Aid, Workforce, Veterans Services, and academic departments. 

The Coordinator also conducts outreach to priority populations and external stakeholders, fields program questions from internal and external partners, tracks student data and outcomes, and works closely with the Director of Career Pathways and the Director of Health Sciences to prepare data for monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reports.

The schedule will generally be daytime hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with occasional attendance at evening events/activities. Opportunity to work up to 2 days per week remotely.  Work location will be at the Oregon City campus with occasional time spent working at  the Harmony campus in support of grant activities. Essential Job Functions:

  • Student Services and Programming (60% of the time)
  • Use multiple communication methods to provide intentional student support to prepare students for college, guide through college program, and assist with career attainment. (g in OHA contract)
  •  Collaborate with multiple departments across campuses to provide a wide range of student support services, including; making grant eligibility determinations, providing guidance on accessing grant-funded supports, collecting and storing confidential student documentation, and fielding and responding to inquiries via the Career Pathways shared email account.
  •  Coordinate with Adult Education, Workforce, CTE Departments and other college supports to facilitate student enrollment in Career Pathways and IET programs, provide case management support, and wrap around services as needed for retention and successful program completion.
  •  Serve as a resource for students from diverse and underserved backgrounds to identify and assess barriers that affect academic and professional success with sensitivity and awareness. Work with individuals that may be frustrated or dissatisfied in a productive and respectful manner, with the goal of de-escalating issues and resolving identified concerns. Provide emotional, financial and strategic support to overcome such barriers and recommend additional resources.
  • Utilize technology systems and software, including Colleague, Navigate, Qualtrics, Outlook, Moodle, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, myClackamas student portal and Self Service to accomplish job functions such as data entry, student record maintenance, student communication, and grant reporting.
  • Utilize grant funds appropriate to assist each student and document expenses to appropriate funding source as required on monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Outreach & Partnerships (40 % of the time)
  • Participate in workgroups, committees, staff meetings, college trainings and related professional activities to promote Career Pathways and Integrated Education and Training student integration into wider college services. Liaise with external partners supporting students and CCC staff to strengthen wraparound support and referrals.
  • 2.2 Compose, edit, and coordinate the development of various communication-related materials for Career Pathways/Health Sciences/IET programs, including flyers, website, and partner emails. 
  • 2.3 Coordinate with College Relations and Marketing to maintain accurate and up-to-date information about Career Pathways program on the college website, develop digital and printed promotional materials, and distribute marketing materials to other college departments and external partners. 
  • 2.4 Expand outreach and recruitment through meeting with individuals both virtually and in-person as well as delivering presentations to school district staff meetings, high school student groups, and other community gatherings.
  • 2.5 Engage employers to support student job placement by convening and meeting with employers to support students with job placement and ensure content is relevant to employer needs.
  • 2.6 Collaborate effectively with others at the college to identify information that needs to be provided in other languages and seek short-term and long-term solutions to translation needs.
  • General Job Functions:

    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, other agencies, and the general public.
    • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification. 
    • Participate in college committees when requested.
    • Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility, which may require travel.
    • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
    • Maintain student confidentiality, data integrity, and comply with all related college, state, and federal standards, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).   


    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g. Business Education, Communications, Student Services, Public Administration, or relevant discipline) and at least 2 years of related experience. 
    • Knowledge of college academic programs and procedure, career development principles and practices, registration processes, and relationships between various levels of education and business. 
    • Knowledge of education partners and services available and college policies and procedures.

    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described. 

     
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Previous experience working in social work or social services such as housing, employment services, etc.
    • Student services experience in the areas of advising, testing, financial aid, or otherwise.
    • Previous experience with unemployed, under-employed, low-income, veterans, re-entry, disabled, dislocated workers, English Language Learners, GED students, first generation immigrants and/or first-generation students.
    • Experience in case management, crisis intervention, employment services, recruitment, training programs, social work or related experience. 
    • Experience working with workforce systems and resources. 
    • Bilingual preferred.

    Working Conditions :

    The position requires minimal (20-40%) ability to use dexterity and fine motor skills assemble, build or repair machines or other objects. Frequent (51-80% of the time) use of office equipment.

    The position requires minimal (5-20%) physical effort such as lifting, carrying, or movement, etc.  Movements required to complete work are not difficult, and only require some degree of agility and hand eye coordination. 

    The work environment is usually well-protected, with minimal hazards or obstacles (5-20%).  There is little or minimal element of personal risk or hazard. Job conditions are usually comfortable, with minimal (5-20%) issues of confinement, temperature change, incident of noise, or interactions of a disagreeable nature, inside/outside work, dirty conditions, exposure to contagious disease, etc. Position may have minimal responsibility for driving.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Supervision of others is not a typical function assigned to this position.  May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.

    Supervision Received :

    Work under the supervision of the Director of Career Pathways.
