Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is seeking a Career & Internship Coordinator! Working under the supervision of the Director of Internships within the Career & Internship Center, coordinates efforts in employer relations. Supports the role of Employer Relations Manager in connecting employers with UVU and helping them recruit and engage with students. Responsible for event registration, financial tracking of payments, job board management, JLD grant reporting, and other related assigned duties. Assists in hosting employers on UVU campus, and employer and campus communication. Coordinates work led by managers of Events and Marketing, and Employer Relations. Supports crucial efforts for overall mission of the Career & Internship Center and UVU.


Summary of Responsibilities


  • Coordinates employer relations functions through communication efforts to employers to discover needs and connect with appropriate CIC staff. Support Employer Relations Manager with duties related to hosting and recruiting employers and strengthening relationships. Coordinates frequently with part-time employer relations staff.

  • Support Events & Marketing Manager with employer duties related to campus recruiting events. Coordinates frequently with events and marketing part-time staff. Communicates with employers and university stakeholders, initiates marketing requests, and circulates information.

  • Assists in coordination of job and internship CRM platform- Handshake. Responsible for job approval duties, employer accounts, job posting assistance, event registration, payments, records and tracking. Assists with gathering information for JLD grant reporting.

  • Attends Career & Internship Center events and fairs. Represents the CIC in many varying events throughout each semester. Supports internship services and college coordinators in areas and times of high demand.

  • Participates in weekly meetings with different teams/groups within the center. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications


Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional experience with employer relations, communications, or essential skills relating to position duties.


Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Knowledge:


Experience, or familiarity with and ability to learn the following: Current social economic and employment conditions, trends and job placement methods. Employment laws and university responsibilities in professional development. Marketing efforts on a college campus. Knowledge of job search methods, coaching, professional development and career planning. Student development.
Skills:
Skilled with general computer software (Microsoft Office) and other office software. Excellent writing and communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal communication, problem-solving, decision-making and prioritization skills. Creative, innovative and detail oriented. Experience with CRM a plus. Skilled with computer software (Microsoft Office) and other office software as applied to management of student records, report preparation and related activities. Skill in other multimedia software such as Canvas and Adobe Suite a plus. Excellent writing and composition skills. Well-developed interpersonal communication, problem-solving, decision-making and prioritization skills. Creative, innovative and detail oriented. 
Abilities:
Ability to work with individuals from multiple authority levels and diverse backgrounds. Ability to manage several diverse projects simultaneously meeting deadlines. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to be self-directed and to complete tasks without supervision. Ability to build professional relationships with current and potential employers. Works well, and patiently with others.
