Career and Professional Development Marketing and Social Media Intern

The Marketing and Social Media intern will be responsible for supporting the Career and Professional Development Center staff with projects related to student outreach, social media management, and graphic design. The primary responsibility of the intern will be to manage the department social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, Get Connected, etc.) to foster interaction, education, engagement and discussion regarding the Career and Professional Development Center activities and events. Must be a current Penn State student. Marketing and social media duties also include: Write social media communications to promote programs, services, resources. Update and maintain online content. Confer with others to identify trends or key group interests or concerns or to provide advice on social media and student trends. Create or edit publications, such as the department newsletters and program materials. Develop plans or materials to communicate activities undertaken by department that are beneficial to the student body. Consult with staff to arrange promotional campaigns in all types of media for promotion of programs. Maintain event calendars. Conduct searches to find needed information. Respond to requests for information from the students, staff and faculty. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Skills: Graphic design skills a must. Proficient with Canva and current social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitter, You Tube, Get Connected, etc. Strong communication skills (verbal & written). Ability to work independently.
