Summary:

Advises and coaches students and recent alumni from all three undergraduate colleges, with a primary focus on serving College of Arts and Sciences students, regarding all aspects of career development, job and internship searches, and preparation for graduate and professional school. Responsible for conducting career presentations for students. Works closely with other members of the Career Center on current and new initiatives, develops and maintains relationships with campus and community partners, and is involved in the preparation and support of career development programs, specifically for the College of Arts and Sciences. Teach career planning courses and assist in the coordination of EDGE Scholars, a four-year career and professional development program for undergraduate students. Coordinate the execution, collection, and analysis of learning assessments for the Career Center programs and services.

 

This position will report directly to the Assistant Director – Colleges of Arts & Sciences and Nursing of the John P. Fahey Career Center and will be an integral part of the Career Center and Creighton EDGE staff.  Interactions and collaborative programming efforts with many departments and programs throughout the university will be critical to the effectiveness of this position.



Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology or related educational/liberal arts field and progress toward completion of an advanced degree required.
Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, business or other helping profession preferred.  
Experience in counseling or advising required, preferably in a college setting and/or career related.
Exceptional presentation skills required.
Familiarity with the labor market, various industries and occupations, career-related resources and assessments preferred.
