Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Cardiovascular Research Coordinator - Delray Beach, FL.

The Cardiovascular Research Coordinator is integral to data collection and scholarly activity preparation for submission and publication by program trainees in the cardiology discipline at Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Florida.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Cardiovascular Research Coordinator is responsible for the following duties but not limited to the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship program under the direction of the supervising Program Director and its Fellows:

  • Screen potential study participants through medical record reviews, interviews, and follow-ups with healthcare providers.

  • Plans subsequent work with the approval of the principal investigator.

  • Conducts in-depth literature searches of web-based information to identify industry and specialty best practices for research methods and, quality control/performance improvement processes, and problem-solving collaborations.

  • Establishes, develops, and evaluates specialized protocols for execution of scholarly activities, including but not limited to: screening and enrollment of subjects into the study, data collection and management of medical record information into a database format, troubleshooting, optimization, and quality control of the data using databases such as REDcap. Generates, updates, and maintains study data documentation and reports using research databases identified by the hospital and program.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital-established Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes for: case reports, retrospective EMR studies, QI studies for each of the partnering hospitals, contributes to the writing and/or editing of manuscripts and grants.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
A master’s degree is preferred.
Experience of two years within the healthcare industry.
Experience in clinical trials and/or post-market registries in the U.S.
Experience in a higher education institution, medical school, or hospital.
General application of medical terminology (Cardiovascular specific).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
Exceptional customer service, organizational and time management skills.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES OR ABILITIES:
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of faculty, staff, and students.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Salary:

$43,000 per year
