Job Summary/Basic Function:

To recruit new students to Boise State in support of the enrollment goals of the University.

Department Overview:

Boise State Undergraduate Admissions recruits and admits prospective domestic undergraduate students in service to the university’s enrollment goals. The general functional areas of our department include customer service and campus visits, communications, recruitment, and systems/processing. Outreach and higher education advocacy are also important to our campus visit and other programming as we seek to serve future students in Idaho and beyond.

Level Scope:

Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self-development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.

Essential Functions:

60% of Time the Campus Visit Coordinator will:

  • Support the maintenance of Daily Campus Visits and Group Visits (including seasonal programs and weekend visits), as well as our large-scale recruitment events at the direction of the Senior Admissions Counselor & Campus Visit Manager
  • Host presentations for prospective students and visitors (anywhere from 5-500 visitors)
  • Work closely with student employees in coordination with the Senior Admissions Counselor & Campus Visit Manager to create a culture of learning and development through hiring, onboarding, programing, training, and advising for student employees
  • Oversee the planning and coordination of individual academic department meetings for prospective students
  • Assist with the creation and review of surveys relevant to campus visitors
  • Active member of CIVSA (Collegiate Information and Visitor Services Association)

40% of Time the Campus Visit Coordinator will:

  • Serve as a role model to student staff who function as ambassadors of the University culture and role model positive workplace behavior to current students.
  • Utilize data and evaluation practices to create comprehensive training protocols for the student employee team.
  • Navigate computer programs/software/CRM’s, including Boise State systems (Slate, G-Suite, Sling, etc)
  • Support the Recruitment Team with special events and programs requested by the supervisor.
  • Participate in Departmental, Divisional, and University events, initiatives and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Boise State admission policies and procedures and maintain an up-to-date understanding of any changes or updates
  • Understanding of programs, events, academic departments and student services on campus
  • Ability to clearly and specifically communicate the intricacies of the process to prospective students
  • Ability to speak publicly and make presentations
  • Ability to provide positive and efficient customer service
  • Skilled in using a variety of methodologies to recruit students
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of independent judgment when working with various constituencies to analyze and evaluate the needs of the “customer”
  • Skilled time manager and ability to manage various important tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive internal and external organizational relationships
  • Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy (FERPA) guidelines, the "Statement of Principles of Good Practice" from the National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC), and "Professional Practices and Ethical Standards" set forth by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO)
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in event planning and management
