The Auxiliary and Support Services Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Campus Ambassador Manager. The mission of the campus ambassador program is to create an inviting first impression of the Georgia State campus by providing excellent customer service and wayfinding to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. As the eyes and ears for our safety and facilities teams we strive to be the first to identify and assist with low-level risks, hazards and public nuisances that diminish Georgia State’s campus experience.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
This position will oversee all aspects of the campus ambassador program’s 24/7 operation, including scheduling, planning, communication, and evaluation. Meet regularly with upper management to share and gather information. This position may be required to be cross trained for another position and/or responsibility in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as to supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and supervision to campus ambassadors, including regular check-ins and troubleshooting assistance. Serve as the primary point of contact, maintaining open lines of communication and fostering a sense of community among participants.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize the impact of the campus ambassador program, including setting goals, tracking metrics, and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Manage a diverse workload and multiple demands within the university environment.
- Provide excellent customer service. Possess the interpersonal skills to communicate information in clear and concise terms to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of streets, building access points, attractions, and transportation systems within the university’s urban campus.
- Oversee proper reporting and follow up of observations, conditions and safety concerns and analyze data to ensure effective benchmarking.
- Serve as the liaison between the campus ambassador program and other departments on campus.
- Assist with coordinating campus events and campaigns in collaboration with campus ambassadors to increase safety and engagement on campus.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed.
- Actively participate in recruitment processes.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for campus ambassadors to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively represent the university.
- Manage and approve payroll for assigned staff, complete performance evaluations, progressive discipline, training, and development.
- Manage the work order system — updating data, uploading new equipment, deleting old equipment, uploading manuals, program updates, security, and access.
- Responsible for the inventory and procurement of all supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma and three years of public facing experience. Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation and take a pre-employment drug screen. A valid Georgia driver's license is required.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and empower a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Experience in planning, project management, and budget oversight, with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Knowledge of recruitment and higher education trends and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines with efficiency and professionalism.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Flexible schedule to include night and weekends.
- Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
- Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
