Business Systems Manager (BUS SYS ANL MGR 1)
Job Summary
This position serves as a Manager in General Accounting for UC Davis Health, comprising the Hospital, clinics, the Primary Care Network and the Schools of Health. Under the direction and leadership of the Health System Controller, the Financial Systems Manager is responsible to support users of finance systems by providing specialized knowledge of business applications and processes. This position primarily acts a liaison between UCO Health Finance, UCPC, Hospital Operations and UCO Health Information Technology and the multiple financial systems' stakeholders and users. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of system configuration as it relates to proper pay, productivity and data analysis for various finance systems and subsystems. The Financial Systems Manager provides finance and technical support and integration assistance for the UCO Health Finance systems and integration with other UCO Health software systems. This position works with cross functional teams and subject matter experts to plan and manage the design, testing and implementation of the financial systems and subsystems, such as general ledger, payroll, and hospital scheduling. Supervises approximately 18 employees.

Minimum Qualifications

  • AICPA Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) credential, or equivalent experience
    (or)
    Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credential, or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or a combination of experience, education and/or training
  • Several years of experience supervising small to moderate sized team(s)
  • Several years of experience within payroll and/or finance
  • Advanced knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems, with UC-specific strongly preferred
  • Advanced level knowledge of time and attendance processes and applications and Payroll processing
  • Demonstrated experience developing written and oral decision-focused presentations and leading groups to consensus within a designated timeframe
  • Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to independently research, develop, and recommend solutions to complex problems along with the ability to present complex data, visually, orally and in writing, to facilitate decision-making
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels
  • Knowledge of the organization's operational, personnel, and financial transactions and systems
  • Project management skills, including planning, establishment of objectives, procedures and standards in order to develop and maintain records and paperwork in clear, logical manner
  • Supervisory skills to hire, train, motivate, coach, develop, evaluate, recognize, reward and discipline all levels of staff
  • Experience with financial systems, including general ledgers, and budgetary systems
  • Experience in system implementations, data management and business process design and improvements
  • Excellent technical skills with Excel, ERP systems (preferably Infor-Lawson), PeopleSoft, Time and Attendance, Ansos and SQL scripting

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of time and attendance processes and applications and Payroll processing for a minimum of five (5) years highly desired
