Description of primary duties and responsibilities:

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

The Office of Financial Aid is to provide financial assistance to students, who, without financial assistance, would be unable to begin of continue one’s college education. The primary purpose of the Business Systems Analyst is to serve as a lead for the functional and technical implementation of Banner Financial Aid Module. In addition, this position will coordinate and collaborate with the office of the Registrar, Admissions, ITT, Institutional Research and Student Call Center to create a seamless delivery of student financial aid. This position is the data nerve of the Office Financial Aid in conjunction with importing and exporting files to the United States Department of Education. In addition to the functionality of the position. Technical and analytical skills are a must in developing, designing and/or support applications for the Office of Financial Aid.

Change in Responsibilities or Organizational Relationship:

The Business Systems Analyst serves as the technical and operational lead in the development, modification, maintenance and compliance of the Financial Aid policies and procedures. The Business Systems Analyst manages the Banner financial aid module, US Department of Education systems, Appxtender imaging system, and any other 3rd party software utilized by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. The Business Systems Analyst will look for efficiencies through constant oversight of technical Business Processes as they relate to financial aid awarding, scholarship management. And office procedures. The Business Systems Analyst will provide analysis and problem resolution for office staff, parents, and students, regarding Title IV information processing and Banner system issues. The Business Systems Analyst will monitor and analyze software upgrades from Ellucan Banner and perform testing for system upgrades (i.e. Banner, etc.) The Business Systems Analyst will create and maintain procedural manuals for IT processes for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Knowledge skills and abilities:

A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Five full years of professional experience in student systems management at a college or university. Excellent Fit. Progressive Thinker.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP, Master’s Degree is preferred.

Experience in ODS Oracle, PL/SQL, Web Tailor, Automic/UC4, and Argos is beneficial, as is experience in working with financial aid software such as SAIG, File Transfer Programs (FTP), COD, CPS and NSLDS. Knowledge, experience, or training in federal financial aid regulations is beneficial.

Ability to work in a fast-paces, multi-faceted profession. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are needed. Demonstrated ability to work independently and knowledge of systems included in above descriptions is essential.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of computer systems documentation and forms design is helpful.

Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing financial aid programs is beneficial.
