Job Description

The Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) Business Specialist - CWDG completes overall business administration support for the Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG) program. This position will complete CWDG program-related performance, accomplishment reporting, data collection and supports assigned department staff.

Responsibilities:

-Completes overall CWDG administration and oversight of sub-grants, including monitoring for compliance with all applicable Federal rules and regulations, site visits to assess project performance and final evaluation of project accomplishments.

-Completes CWDG program-related performance, accomplishment reporting and data collection.

-Support assigned department staff with payroll/time, fuel cards and procurement and travel cards.

-Process payment vouchers, mileage reports, travel vouchers and fuel logs in conformance with State statutes, System policies and TAMFS procedures.

Education and Experience:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Natural Resources, Business or Accounting, or closely related field.

Required Experience: None - entry level position

Preferred Experience: Two (2) years experience in the following areas: accounting, data entry or customer service and business and fiscal support processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required Knowledge: Word and Excel. Basic knowledge of business and fiscal support processes.

Preferred Knowledge: Working knowledge of Workday, Concur, Canopy, FASTER and FAMIS

Required Skills: Sound judgement. Adaptability. Great attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills: Superior customer service delivery

Required Abilities: Ability to forge cooperative relationships. Maintain files. Ability to perform duties proficiently, accurately, in a time-sensitive environment with little or no supervision. Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Abilities: Exhibits leadership with partners and employees in assigned program area.

Required: Valid Class C Texas Driver's license
