Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Business Services Manager position.

The Business Services Manager in the Community, Population, and Public Mental Health Division of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is responsible for accomplishing the day-to-day administrative, human resources, operational, and financial activities of the Division. The Manager oversees data collection, research, and analysis in support of the Division’s strategic plan. Under the direction of the Director, the Manager job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Organizes and tracks operational processes and data collection
  • Assists in the development of program budgets and projections for upcoming fiscal years
  • Populates and monitors budget reports for grant and foundation funds
  • Monitors grant renewals and progress reports
  • Manages the analysis and interpretation of financial information and develops reports to satisfy needs such as audits, annual reports, financial reports, etc.
  • Conducts research and benchmarking on specific topics as assigned
  • Oversight and monitoring of the clinical practice and UPL funding for telepsychiatry and Behavioral Health and Wellness including direct, continuous contact with CU Medicine and hospital stakeholders to ensure appropriate education of providers, documentation templates, coding, collections and productivity
  • Reports CFTE data and participating in practice evaluations as requested
  • Ensures accurate funding distributions, payroll, hiring, and recruitment practices, as well as monthly additional pay processing
  • Serves as a “customer service” resource for faculty and answers questions related to salary distributions, budgets, and division policies/procedures
  • Collaborate with Program Director on Human Resource projects as necessary
  • Performs other related duties, including special projects, as assigned by the Program Director

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and communicate effectively with the Director and other stakeholders while working independently on program administration and management.

Jobs in this career family provide general business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families.  Functions include institutional research, statistical analysis, policy development and review, strategic planning and broad unit business operations such as parking and transportation services, risk management, childcare services, real estate and property management, retail services or job responsibilities that combine fiscal, HR and operational management responsibilities.

Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a program, function or work unit, including the development and implementation of processes consistent with college, school or departmental strategies and processes.  This position will supervise at least three (3) staff members including administrative assistants, coordinators, and/or professional research assistants.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • 2 or more years of professional level experience in program management and administration including data analysis, reporting, budget administration, and financial activities of a clinical program.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • Proficient experience in operations, business management, organizational behavior, and data management
  • Experience in University of Colorado Peoplesoft HR systems
  • Experience in University of Colorado grant management and financial systems

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $60,171 - $84,239  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
