Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The NC AHEC Program is a work force development initiative to improve the access to healthcare in North Carolina. The mission of the North Carolina AHEC Program is to meet the state’s health and health workforce needs by providing educational programs in partnership with academic institutions, health care agencies, and other organizations committed to improving the health of the people of North Carolina.

Position Summary
Flexible work arrangements, including remote/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine’s Working Forward initiative. As such, this position’s work location is designated as hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit’s business needs.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and financial functions within the Practice Support Service Line. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Practice Support and supports a team responsible for carrying out coaching and education of primary care and safety net medical practices across the state. These administrative functions include, but are not limited to, providing a high-level of customer-service and effective communication to our regional offices, onboarding and offboarding regional coaching staff, scheduling for meetings with stakeholders, logistics for events, ordering office supplies, and supporting grant and contract functions.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills, writing and presentation skills, and communication skills that allow for effective communication with all stakeholders. Advanced computer skills and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Excellent time management, coordination, and organizational skills to meet deadlines under time and resource constraints. Interpersonal skills with proven ability to work in a team environment. Ability to positively represent the AHEC Program to ensure customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preference to someone with higher education experience.
