Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The Carolina Women’s Center helps to create a more inclusive environment by working to achieve gender equity and by assuring there are no gender-based barriers to success. We serve the entire campus community of students, faculty, staff, and postdoctoral fellows. The Carolina Women’s Center will lead efforts and initiatives related to women and gender equity and will serve as a hub for all related activities, information, and collaborations. Through partnerships at UNC-Chapel Hill and in the community, we will promote and advance equitable safety, well-being, empowerment, achievement, and leadership for people of all gender identities.

Position Summary

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Reporting to the Director of the Carolina Women’s Center, the Business Services Coordinator will provide the daily administrative and fiscal support for the center. The Business Services Coordinator position will provide administrative management and support to the Carolina Women’s Center. Duties include but are not limited to the following: fiscal management of budget, purchases, requisitions, and travel; administrative support for the stewardship and gift processing and track constituent records in DAVIE; advisory board/committee support; serve as customer service representative to faculty, staff, students, and community guests; provide support to various projects and programs in the center.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

*Strong oral, written, and intercultural communication skills.
*Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, manage multiple projects, schedules and deadlines, high level of attention to detail, as well as possess good interpersonal skills.
*Must exhibit high ethical standards of conduct and confidentiality and handle sensitive information in a discrete and appropriate manner.
*Fluency with desktop applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data management systems.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

*Experience working in a higher education setting
*Working directly with budgets
*Prior experience in a higher education setting
*Familiarity with data and assessment software
