About the Department
The mission of the Department of Animal Science is to create and extend science based information in animal science through research, academic programs, and extension. Programs focus on the disciplines of nutrition, genetics and physiology and their interactions and impact on the production, management, care and well-being of swine, beef cattle, dairy cattle, horses, sheep, goats and companion animals.
Essential Job Duties
This position will coordinate business and fiscal functions and personnel operations within the department of Animal Science. Consequently, this position provides high level guidance to departmental faculty, staff and students and provides an important link to our diverse external constituencies, including agricultural industry, commodity groups, alumni, extension agents, and funding agencies including private, state, and federal agencies. The position must anticipate, manage, and administer departmental business and financial responsibilities, communications, and events.

Qualifications


Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Computer software skills
  • Ability to manage a budget, prepare spreadsheets and reports
  • Ability to manage projects concurrently
  • Ability to professionally interact with faculty, staff, students and outside constituents
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree (Bachelor’s).
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HR and Financials.
  • Experience with NCSU business operations preferred and/or experience at a constituent UNC institution.
