Business Process Analyst - USC Care MSO CBO - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Business Process Analyst facilitates system and process redesign initiatives in the organization that promote operational excellence. This innovative candidate will display recognized leadership and sound organizational and analytical skills and will actively assist the executive team in completing assigned projects according to respective deadlines and expectations. The scope of activities for the business process analyst includes creating collaborative customer relationships, implementing lean design while developing business solutions with stakeholders, managing the integration of performance improvement projects in the organization and analyzing data obtained from numerous information systems and employ the judgment necessary to determine the accuracy and applicability of the conclusions.

Essential Duties:

  • Facilitates strategic decisions and provides leadership direction within the organization to optimize management of scope, financials and schedule as it impacts project execution.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, as required while achieving objectives.
  • Partners with department directors and process owners in the organization to create and develop project plans; drive results and revise plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements while maintaining linkage between projects, business needs and customer priorities.
  • Collects statistical data for administrative purposes, prepares reports for presentation to leadership.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Develops management objectives and policies for various units and monitors results. Interprets objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitates system redesign initiatives using innovative and critical thinking.
  • Coordinates the activities of the assigned units with other units; Resolves problems with unit leaders concerning use of resources; Encourages and maintains open lines of communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Evaluates the performance of the various units as well as the performance of key managers and supervisors and provides feedback to the Senior Leadership.
  • Provides operational expertise and guidance while implementing lean methodology and best practices.
  • Attends promptly to the administrative details of the position including preparation of reports, completion of performance appraisals, and other employee-related actions.
  • Develop reports to support corporate initiatives
  • Develop wide dashboards and tracking tools using Microsoft Excel and Visio, while interfacing with data systems
  • Leverage data systems to review and analyze financial information for complex, difficult and varied management needs.
  • Identifies cost cutting measures in various process improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years Previous performance improvement experience and knowledge lean principles, tools and techniques.
  • 2 years or more Experience using myriad data sources to enhance and/or automate process workflows.
  • Strategic planning and critical thinking skills for problem solving and identification of solutions.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, familiarity with MS Visio and MS PowerPoint.
  • Functional familiarity with SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Master's degree MHA or MBA.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $95,680.00 - $158,230.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
