Job Summary
The Director of Center Operations is a key position that will ensure all Indiana small, medium, and rural-based manufacturers have the opportunity to engage with the Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). This position will put in place and manage the infrastructure, incentives, and messaging to attract and engage Indiana manufacturers, communities, and organizations that share our mission to grow the state's manufacturing economy. This will require collaboration with University contacts, clients, existing and new partners, and industry stakeholders. This position will ensure the continual management of the MEP brand as the preeminent advisor to the State's manufacturers. This role also holds responsibility for oversight of the Center's support functions, including marketing, workshops, sales support, grant management, delivery materials and logistics, and curriculum management.

This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation.
Office Location: Carmel, Indiana
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Six years of experience in personnel management of multi-functional areas in an intensive customer service industry; successful experience in attracting state, local, and/or federal sponsored funding; experience in a service industry such as training, legal, accounting, and/or non-profit; background in public relations, social media, and client communications; business leadership and supervision
- Challenging enterprise-level personal performance metrics that may include cost reduction, revenue generation, product line launches, rapid growth or contraction, shareholder expectations, direct customer support with onerous requirements and challenges, and other significant business management experiences
- A working knowledge of Quality and Industry Management Systems Standards, Engineering and Technology, OEM through Tier 4 Supply Chains, Leadership and Frontline Workforce
- Ability to use customer relationship management tools/systems (e.g., Salesforce) and data to measure, identify and manage trends in performance and behaviors of customers and staff
- Ability to make difficult decisions on matters or personnel performance or conduct, as well as recognition and reward
- Functional understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility and how this affects organizational leadership decisions, management, and partnerships
- Skill set as a capable negotiator and closer for partnership deals
- Exceptional skills with spreadsheets and using and improving databases
- Ability to work with PhDs, engineers, C-level executives, and manufacturers
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry needs and current constraints with a general knowledge of manufacturing operations
- Working knowledge of human resource management, supervision, performance management, and a comfort level to deliberate and act within policy to correct and deal with issues that may arise
