Job Description

The Department of Information Systems at the W. P. Carey School of Business is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual who can manage and complete multiple tasks and priorities for our Information Systems department within the W. P. Carey School of Business.  This position will work closely and collaboratively with our Department Chair, Operations Manager, faculty, staff students, and employer partners to plan, direct, organize, and execute against department requirements to ensure timely delivery of department outcomes for financial outcomes and industry engagement.

Salary Range

$55,000 - $65,000 per year; DOE


Essential Duties

  • Monitors a variety of account expenditures, maintains and reconciles detailed budgets for various accounts including grants, advises and/or determines which expenditures are within the budget guidelines; informs management of irregularities and proceeds with corrective action. 
  • Processes travel reimbursements, approving purchase of supplies, services, and equipment with use of P Card and other purchasing documents in accordance with established procurement and financial policies. 
  • Organizes and/or prepares departmental financial reports; analyzes, summarizes and interprets information; recommends action to be taken. Responds to audit requests and gathers documentation for payroll, pcards, and financial records. Also performs payroll and pcard reconciliations. 
  • Prepares budget proposals and recommendations and establishes budget control system for controlling expenditures; controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.  
  • Manages the department’s visiting scholar program.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and manages industry outreach and engagement within the Information Systems Executive Advisory Council.   
  • Works closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders in order to effectively manage day-to-day activities of our industry collaboration and financial outcomes; 
  • Builds, develops, and maintains collaborative working relationships with department team, participants and employer partners vital to industry engagement success. 
  • Prepares and maintains all reports including milestones/deliverables, outreach activities, industry collaboration’s progression. 
  • Proactively identifies, helps develops and deploys solutions to improve effectiveness of department operations and industry engagement. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related experience; OR, Nine (9) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working Environment

  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Deliver presentations.
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices & policies in selecting methods, techniques & evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Regular managerial review of results and objectives.
  • Use of software and computer equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse) for extended periods of time.
  • Travel to host events.
