Job Description

Under the direction of the Administrator – Women & Infant Service Line, the Manager, Women and Infants Operations, supports the identification and development of operational efficiencies, annual strategic goals and objectives, financial and capital budget, as well as administrative direction of the University Hospital Women and Infants Service Line in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director of Labor & Delivery, and the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations. This position will partner to plan, develop, implement, and oversee initiatives and projects designed to evaluate and improve clinical quality, safety, resource utilization and operations within the University Hospital Women and Infants Service Line which consists of approximately 500 FTEs and an expense budget of approximately $60 million.

Position Summary

The Manager participates in the development of clinical/operational strategy and is accountable for directing operations of business units they support. The Manager supervises and coordinates multiple activities, including: statistical, performance and managerial reporting, decision and budget support, capital planning and execution, and quality and operations improvement initiatives. The Manager will work in close collaboration with Women and Infants Leadership to facilitate progress toward strategic and operational goals. They will lead and manage the team and partnerships across central Ohio and surrounding cities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree required; Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business or other related field (preferred), or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years progressive healthcare experience preferred which includes management of an ambulatory or hospital clinical operations. 

  • Experience leading and implementing Lean Six Sigma projects. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. 

  • Ability to learn new systems software. 

  • Independent and self-motivated.

Additional Information:

For Hire: Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business or other related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years progressive healthcare experience preferred which includes management of an ambulatory or hospital clinical operations. 

   

Experience leading and implementing Lean Six Sigma projects. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills.  Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects.  Ability to learn new systems software.  Independent and self-motivated. On-going: Attends professional continuing education to remain up to date on best practices and technological innovations in the clinical disciplines.
