Description

The Department of Head and Neck Surgery is seeking to hire a Business Operations Manager to work under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer to manage daily operations. In this role you will be responsible for a combination of administrative and operational duties. This unique role allows you the opportunity to suggest and implement improvements and best practices, review budgets, assist with strategy and track projects through different phases of creation and implementation. In this role you will: * Primarily be responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the multiple functions in the CAO’s office. * Using independent judgement, provide administrative and analytical support for the activities of the CAO. * Handle duties, which may include project coordination, management, as well as budget review for specific areas, as assigned. * Act as a liaison with various administrative offices and directors within the Department as well as the entire University community. * Assist with the coordination, follow-through, and resolution of high-level confidential and complex matters. * Supervise administrative staff including, but not limited to, Assistant to the Chair, Admin Support Staff, and various lab employees across Head and Neck Surgery. This will include staff hiring/performance evaluations/work assignment to staff/merit increase, discipline, and compliance / grievances. **Please note that a cover letter and resume is requested. Pay Range: $67,400.00 – $ 133,400.00



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Required: * Project management skills with proven ability to deliver agreed upon objectives within expected timeframe. * Experience with coordination of multiple projects in phases. * Skill in working on projects involving clinical practice operations, call centers, administrative offices and research facilities. * Ability to read and understand legal and technical documents and financial budgets. * Ability to exercise sound judgement. * Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to define the objective. * Set task priorities and manage task schedules. Perform effectively under conditions of frequent interruptions. * Build and participate effectively with a team and collaborate with staff, faculty, leadership and others within a demanding environment. * Demonstrated skill in using PC with Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams along with Zoom. * Proven history of ability to successfully relate and communicate with all levels of staff, faculty and trainees from different professional backgrounds. * Ability to write concise, logical and grammatically correct business correspondence. * Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with department leadership and staff while providing direction and clarity. * Ability to travel to multiple practice locations throughout the entire UCLA Health System. * Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments and meet deadlines. Preferred: * Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. * Master’s degree preferred.
