Position Summary
The SOM FBO office has created a Finance Service Center (FSC) that will work with a mix of departments in the SOM. Upon request of the departments or by determination of SOM CFO, the FSC provides the following services: business manager (research) functions, pre-award grant and clinical trial submissions, post-award grant and clinical trial management, and vendor relations assistance. The departments that come to the FSC for services do not have expertise in house or they do not have enough volume to employee a full time FTEs in house. They may require research expertise knowledge not currently available, or departments that need financial assistance in the form of account clean-up and restructuring. 
The University Program Specialist will be an integral part of the FBO Service Center by supervising or assisting assigned departments with account management and monitoring and compliance with government accounting methods, procedures and accounting practices. Position involves developing and maintaining productive collaborative work relationships and assessing and responding to assigned department’s needs. The position will apply research administration policy and practices and specifically, the position will supervise and/or assist departments with grant administration and management and financial and data management. The University Program Specialist will also work as the lead on clinical trial budget negotiations as well as monitoring of awarded clinical trials. Finally, the position will assist Service Center Manager and/or SOM CFO with any additional ad hoc reporting or special projects.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Mid-career with Masters and 1-2 yrs experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 yrs experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting or Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting and one year of experience.
