The Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Business Manager.

The purpose of this position is to manage the research operations and administration of the GU Oncology Program.  This position reports to the GU Clinical Research Faculty Director and the Division Finance Manager.  Functional areas include, assisting with writing and submitting grants, research post- award financial operations, overseeing Clinical Trials Management Software Oncore, managing program resources for active projects, revenue cycle strategy and development, supervision of fiscal and administrative operations staff, and participating in research planning for program development.  This position requires strong per and post award management, revenue cycle development, compliance, and regulations.

Medical Oncology is a Division within the Department of Medicine.  The Division has as its primary mission, to improve cancer care by moving discoveries made in the laboratory to a clinical setting and finding new and innovative ways to use existing therapies.  Our vision is to be national leaders in oncology translational medicine.

The Division of Medical Oncology is primarily located in the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), on the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center campus, but also has faculty and staff located at University of Washington (UW) Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, and South Lake Union.  This position interacts closely with multiple process partners, including SCCA, UW, and FHCRC clinical and administrative departments, and multiple regulatory committees.

This position is key to the success of the GU Oncology Program, promoting timely and efficient study start-up while ensuring the Program’s clinical research studies are compliant and financially sound.  This will require a strong partnership with faculty and staff both within and external to the program.

The GU clinical research program is a fast paced rapidly growing team with 8 faculty and 10+ research, operations and administrative staff. At any given time the GU Program has over 25 open studies, which generates critical research funding and discovery mechanisms as well as bringing much-needed investigational treatments to oncology patients with few or no other options.
