The Georgia State University Honors College is currently recruiting a Business Manager. This position furthers the mission of the Honors College by managing state and foundation budgets and financial and human resources transactions.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

Providing regular budget reports and forecasts to the dean.

·         Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual transactios for the college, including inter-departmental curriculum funding, reimbursements to faculty and staff, processing payments to vendors, and budget monitoring and reconciliation.

·         Interacting with similarly positioned colleagues in other units as well as financial managers in GSU’s central administration.

·         Overseeing one direct report (i.e., administrative specialist) and between 5-7 indirect reports (i.e., student assistants).

·         Developing with students and submitting proposals for tech and student activity fees, and supervising the use of these fees.

·         Supporting 14 core staff, 6 faculty associates, and 2 associate deans on the appropriate use of funds and reimbursement across a number of different initiatives.

·         Assessing staff technology needs with IT support and managing the student laptop check out policy and procedures.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Flexible thinking, adaptability, creative problem solving skills

·         Ability to function independently as well as collaboratively within a team

·         Ability to take initiative

·         Attention to details

·          Demonstrable experience and success in management of projects and/or groups

·         Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities

Demonstrated superior verbal and written communication skills

·         Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships

·         A minimum of Bachelors Degree and two years of business management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

·         Experience working in an academic setting

·         Expert proficiency with Excel and advanced data visualization functions required.

·         Experience with Spectrum/Panthermart
