|Summary of Duties||
The primary role of the Director of OSU Marion Campus Office of Finance and Business Services is to act as the Senior Fiscal Officer (SFO) and serve as a strategic financial partner to the Dean/Director. In addition, this position will act to preserve and enhance the Marion Campus' assets in order to allow the campus to achieve its vision, implement its mission, and promote its values. This position reports to the Dean/Director and oversees the financial and accounting operations and is responsible for oversight of all fiscal services including: financial systems, reporting and controls, and the Campus Business Service Center as well as financial policies, regulations and budget. The Director is responsible for participating in the Campus strategic planning process and consults with the Dean/Director and senior leaders on complex fiscal matters and policies. The Director is also responsible for continuous quality improvement of operational and organizational processes that are strategic, efficient and effective. The position is expected to provide guidance on fiscal matters and exceptional service to the campus in all areas of responsibility. The Director develops and implements policies and practices to assure the continued long-term financial strength and sound fiscal management of the Campus. The Director is expected to proactively identify creative and fiscally sound methods for funding operations and projects, and for identifying new sources of revenue and reduction of costs. This position serves as a financial liaison with the Campus co-located institution, Marion Technical College, and works closely with the co-located college’s chief financial officer to establish, review, project and monitor the Campus and College cost-shared budgets. This position is expected to develop short and long range projections, financial models and tools.

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of ten years in an academic financial leadership role with evidence of progressively increasing responsibility and a minimum of five years of managing or directing operational staff; experience with strategic planning, scenario analysis and working in a team environment across diverse constituencies and organizations; strong and effective leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
Extensive experience with University budgeting processes, policies and procedures; understanding and participation in the University’s Workday FDM planning processes.
