Job Title:  Business Intelligence Engineer 2

Job Duties:  Position located in Redwood City. Responsible for development of complex technical analysis and design of new data warehouse from heterogeneous OLTP sources, new programming, modifications, data modeling, scheduling, tuning, testing and maintenance of systems in support of new and existing Business Intelligence (BI) and other projects. Responsible for databases, data acquisition, ETL strategies and tools and technologies like Informatica. Must be able to create ETL code using Informatica software. Provide data analysis and root cause analysis, conceptualize, design, implement and develop solutions for critical BI components. Responsible for coding using scripting language like Shell, Javascript, PL/SQL. Perform dataflow, system and data analysis and develop meaningful and useful presentation of data in BI applications. Plan and implement standards, define/code conformed global and reusable objects, perform complex database design, data modelling (EDW and programming and streamline the systems. Consult with client groups to assess user needs and understand the business processes; convert user requirements into technical solutions. Must have experience in software engineering principles and skills working on Unix/Linux/Windows Operating systems, Version Control and Office software.

Requirements:  Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree and five years of experience in any occupation in Data warehouse methodology or concepts. Or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree and seven years of experience in any occupation in Data warehouse methodology or concepts.

Must also possess five years of experience in each of the following:

  • Data Modeling and designing data warehouse from heterogeneous OLTP sources
  • Databases, data acquisition, ETL strategies and tools and technologies like Informatica
  • Oracle database
  • Data analysis and root cause analysis
  • ETL experience using Informatica Software
  • Scripting language like Shell, JavaScript, PL/SQL
  • Software engineering principles and skills working on Unix/Linux/Windows Operating systems, Version Control and Office software.

Salary: The expected pay range for this position is $118,100 to $123,970 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
