Description

 

Integrates business intelligence technology with traditional institutional research to expand the design, delivery, and maintenance of information. Develop data visualizations, analyses, and reports that support decision making and planning.

  • Design, implement, and support business intelligence dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Identify data quality issues and work to resolve issues and processes as needed.
  • Collaborate to administer polices, standards and procedures for data analysis and modeling, and data element standardization and use to ensure accurate, useful and readily accessible data.
  • Develop and implement data models and validation procedures that will best meet the decision support needs of the campus.
  • Determine testing needed to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions, create test plans, and evaluate testing results taking corrective action as necessary
  • Maintain reports and manage related intranet sites.
  • Write queries, develop reports and conduct analyses for Institutional Research.
  • Assist in support and training with end users; provide user assistance and direction for self-service reporting options.

    Qualifications

     

    Masters and 3 years experience

    Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

    - Department is willing to accept experience in lieu of education. 

    The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following:

    • Experience in data extraction and programming tools found in SQL, PHP, Python, Javascript. 
    • Experience using statistical tools such as SAS, SPSS, STATA or R. 
    • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. 
    • Ability to take initiative, problem solve, exercise excellent judgment, demonstrate critical thinking skills and adapt to shifting priorities in a diverse setting. 
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task. 
    • Highest level of professionalism and respect for confidentiality. 
    • Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external constituents. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
