Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer for the The Office of Information Technology- Enterprise Application Services (OIT-EAS). Reports to Business Intelligence Developer Sr. Manager within OIT Enterprise Application Services (EAS), is a subject matter expert in one of the following areas (Finance, HR, Student Information, Healthcare) processes who will partner closely with various campuses and central and business units to assess and document complex reporting requirements, assists with prioritization, coordinates with end users in testing, user acceptance, and deployment of developed reports.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Provides business intelligence subject, reporting, and data analysis needs.
  • Works closely with end users, and others in the BI dept to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.
  • The position will leverage their background subject matter expertise and build an understanding of the university that enables them to assist with BI reporting needs to address key issues.
  • The BI Developer educates and train business partners and clients to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for analysis and option exploration.
  • The position will have excellent understanding of BI reporting tools and working with data warehouse/databases.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience with four or more years of technical work experience with two of the years in BI reporting/dashboard development.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of best practices in data visualization and Business Intelligence, including but not limited to cutting-edge software features and capabilities of Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle BI Publisher and Tableau.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence, including data architecture, sourcing, reporting and analytics through the entire project lifecycle.
  • Experience using BI reporting solutions including troubleshooting issues and explaining functionality to business users.
  • Experience developing content for and delivering training to others on the use of Oracle Analytics Cloud, Tableau or similar Business Intelligence solution.
  • Experience with ETL tools or performing ETL processes. •Strong aptitude for enhancing and automating queries from data sources such as relational databases and flat files.
  • Experience analyzing data from large datasets, using geospatial and/or statistical analysis tools.
  • Extensive experience developing and delivering BI reporting training, managing and tracking end user requests and troubleshooting BI reporting solution issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work with business customers, and technical teams.
  • Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle BI Publisher, Tableau, Adobe Captivate and ETL tools.
  • Works with with BI team and university units to identify specific BI training, communication, knowledge base needs and develop solutions to help ensure the adoption and successfully usage of BI solutions.
  • Creates documentation, FAQ’s, knowledge base, videos, web site, and monitors collaboration forums to facilitate learning and adoption.
  • Participates in BI user groups, both internally and externally. •Provides train-the-trainer assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in having a vital role in system implementations.
  • Prefers experience working in Higher Education.
