The Business Intelligence Analyst and ServiceNow Developer at VCHS is a multifaceted role supporting data-driven decision-making and strategic planning within Health Sciences. Reporting to the Senior Business Intelligence Manager, the incumbent is not only responsible for handling a broad spectrum of data related to finance, education, personnel, academics, and research but also for the development and administration of ServiceNow applications.

The role requires a strong foundation in both data analysis and technical development. The incumbent will be actively involved in the collection, compilation, and insightful analysis of data across various domains. This includes conducting detailed data integrity audits, responding to data requests, and supporting the creation of essential reports and surveys.

The incumbent will engage closely with business units and IT teams, playing a pivotal role in operational analytics. This involves configuring and optimizing ServiceNow modules, applying scripting technologies like JavaScript and AngularJS, and developing robust data solutions within the ServiceNow platform. The dual nature of this role offers a unique blend of technical expertise in both system administration and collaborative data analysis, positioning the incumbent to significantly enhance analytical skills and contribute to business process improvements through innovative technological solutions.

Applies acquired skills and professional concepts to business analytics projects of small to medium size and intermediate scope and complexity.

  • Six (6) years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training plus two (2) or more years of relevant experience.

  • Working knowledge of business intelligence functions and analytics.

  • Working knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools. Ability to produce reports and documentation.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-resolution skills.

  • Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with professional and technical staff.

  • Ability to train staff at a variety of technical skill levels.

  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge relating to the design and development of software. Basic knowledge of secure software development.

  • Knowledge of business processes and procedures. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
