The Business Coordinator II, under general supervision, provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment related to the purchasing, shipping and receiving operations of the School.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3 years of experience in related field

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of State of Texas purchasing rules and guidelines

  • Ability to lift/move light loads

Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing, Shipping, and Receiving Support - Independently manages the purchasing shipping and receiving operations for materials in the School of Dentistry. Coordinate the receiving cycle with Business Coordinator IIIs to ensure compliance with TAMU, School of Dentistry, and State policy. Ensures accuracy of orders received matches invoices prior to payment to vendors. Conducts audits on accounts to ensure purchasing, receiving, and delivery of items has been successfully completed. Provides input and assists in developing purchasing, shipping and receiving policies, procedures, and guidelines. Communicate departmental purchasing needs and receiving issues to staff via SharePoint or other electronic tracking system. Identify issues affecting purchasing, receiving and delivery of items for the School; independently research and propose solutions for implementation. May coordinate the purchasing of Central Stores inventory. Reviews and approves invoices in the internal inventory system. Process and audits invoices monthly for department orders.

  • Administrative Support - Serves as a purchasing, shipping and receiving liaison with department and unit staff. Develops, implements and audits business procedures upon approval and advises upper administration. Trains staff on new and existing business procedures and interprets policies pertaining to purchasing, shipping, and receiving files. Participate in the development of standard and complex reports and business-related correspondence. Performs other duties as assigned.
