Job Description

The Business Coordinator II, under general supervision, provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment, including reviewing business documents and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and budget data.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides training to departmental personnel on travel processes and procedures.
  • Serves as a liaison with Texas A&M University (TAMU) Travel Office, Financial Management Operations, Sponsored Research Services, and the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) Fiscal Office.
  • Performs monthly reconciliation of procurement card purchases.
  • Prepares expense reports through Concur by assigning object codes, checking on availability of funding, and matching documents.
  • Reviews expense reports in Concur for compliance with TAMU and TEES policies and procedures as well as account restrictions.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities.
  • Assists in the resolution of issues for internal and external customers.
  • Maintains departmental business files.
  • Serves as a backup for accounts payable by initiating, reviewing and approving requisitions and invoices in AggieBuy.
  • Submits payment corrections/transfers as needed.
  • Coordinates annual fiscal year closing activities.
  • Communicates relevant policies and procedures to departmental personnel.
  • May supervise student workers.
  • Performs other related duties when needed.
     

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Three years of related experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Concur, FAMIS/CANOPY and AggieBuy.
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Able to work well with others
  • Customer service skills.
