What we want

The Business Coordinator I, under general supervision, provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment, including reviewing business documents and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and budget data as directed by supervisor.

What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills:

  • Aggiebuy, Concur, FAMIS,  and Canopy experience

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Duties - Implements and coordinates purchasing activities to include management of accounts payable, purchasing and requisition processing, payment card allocations and statement preparation and reconciliation of departmental FAMIS accounts. Proposes solutions to routine transaction issues/errors. Coordinates annual fiscal year closing activities and drafts new fiscal year plans. Reviews and audits reconciliations of multiple unit accounts. Monitors and reports on unit budget activity. Prepares monthly and annual financial reports. Coordinates routine fiscal activities. Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring business programs or services. Assists in preparing budgets for review by principal investigator(s). Develops financial and statistical analyses and summary reports.

  • Travel - Reviews travel expense reports for accuracy and adherence to university and college guidelines.  Assists travelers with errors and modifications. Reviews and approves vouchers and requisitions.

  • Finance Administration - Trains employees on existing business procedures and provides policies and regulations to faculty and staff. Assists in preparing monthly and annual financial reports. Assists with administration of contracts. Provides input to policies and interprets policies and procedures. Coordinates inventory process and maintenance of business files. May serve as a liaison with financial, payroll, and/or human resources. May coordinate routine personnel activities and maintenance of personnel files and approve leave requests. Composes correspondence. Assists with administration of unit, program, or project. Provides policies and regulations to staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
