Purdue University and its College of Agriculture are looking for an individual who can practice good time management and organizational skills, and efficiently multi-task to become its next Business Assistant. As the Business Assistant, you will work collaboratively with departmental faculty, staff, students, and other business units or areas. Perform various business functions to support the fiscal management process for organizational units. Tasks include account management for departmental and sponsored program grants, procurement, travel, billing, cost center management, effort reporting, gifts processing, loans, and voluntary support. Serve as a resource for areas of responsibility. May develop financial reports and analyze and resolve or recommend action on unique problems.

 

Hybrid work will be considered for this position based on the candidate’s location and interest
 

This posting represents a part-time position (0.50% FTE = 20 hours/week).  Benefits do apply.
 

Required:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Three (3) years of experience in customer service, as an account clerk, business, or other related field
  • Experience maintaining spreadsheets and using word processing for communication and documentation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Motivated individual with the ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Thorough and professional with the ability to identify and determine problems, analyze information, and implement solutions
  • Committed to professional standards in any situation, representing the University with tact and diplomacy while observing confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment


 

Preferred:

  • University and student services experience
  • Experience with SAP and Success Factors
