The Business Intelligence Specialist 3 - Business Analyst applies knowledge of business analytics to address problems related to operational efficiencies and tactical planning for Perioperative and Procedural Services. Works closely with administrative and clinical staff and leaders to understand business needs to prepare accurate, thorough, insightful, and timely analysis and reporting in a fast-paced environment. The Business Intelligence Specialist 3 - Business Analyst is responsible for producing reports in Reporting Workbench, Radar, Clarity, and Tableau.


This position will work onsite at our Hillcrest location and a possible hybrid schedule-which includes a combination of working both onsite at our Hillcrest location and remote-which will be determined based on business needs at a later date.

  • Six (6) years of related healthcare analytics experience, education/training; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in related area plus two (2) years of related healthcare analytics experience
  • Experience with EPIC or other Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Proven ability to leverage knowledge of data needs, data sources, and data solution technologies to provide clients with accurate, timely, and insightful analytical reports and presentations
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to interpret complex information and deliver insightful analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and data modeling
  • Effective interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with managers, professional and technical staff
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce presentations to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Experience with SQL or Reporting Workbench
  • EPIC Clarity Data Model certification
  • EPIC OpTime experience
  • Experience in a large, complex healthcare environment.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $82,500 - $151,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.51 - $72.56

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
