General Description of Position:

Under the direction of the Finance System Administrator, this position is responsible for maintaining the performance of the Ivy Tech vendor management process and other financial systems. The Business Analyst is a member of the Ivy Tech System Administration (ITSA) team in Ivy Tech’s Business Affairs Finance Area.

The ITSA team is responsible for managing a broad portfolio of Financial applications, integrations, and reports delivered primarily through the various financial system platforms.

The Business Analyst must have a strong financial background while maintaining a rigorous commitment to quality, security, and attention to detail.

Major Responsibilities:

Configure and Support Ivy Tech’s implementation and ongoing development of Workday applications as applicable.

Supplier creation and maintenance of information within Ivy Tech Supplier Portal, Workday, and PaymentWorks.

Sending of Supplier Onboarding vendor invitations for Systems Office supplier requests

Conduct root cause analysis to determine an appropriate action plan for break/fix and support issues.

Draft and revise - Business Affairs policies and procedures based upon new system requirements and functionality due to the Workday Implementation

Configure and Support the bi-annual Workday upgrade processes, including evaluating and testing new functionality

Perform workflow analysis and document process changes and improvements based on business development decisions.

Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from internal customers and stakeholders to define and build system modifications, enhancement, and implementation of new strategies.

Conduct root cause analysis to determine an appropriate action plan for break/fix and support issues.

Draft and revise - Business Affairs policies and procedures based upon new system requirements and functionality due to the Workday Implementation and ongoing innovation of owned modules.

Build and support Workday reports using various Workday reporting tools (Report Writer, Discovery Boards, Worksheets).

Acquire in-depth knowledge of Ivy Tech’s business in order to identify opportunities for improving internal processes and driving efficiencies and provide in depth analysis to end users.

Participate in interactive design sessions using best practices to effectively solve business problems by providing sample approaches as discussion points.

Ensure accurate comprehensive documentation of systems, their respective integration dependencies as well as system/software dependencies, including but not limited to job aids, training manuals, and video guides.

Assist by using sound business judgment, risk avoidance and SME resources to coordinate with campus business offices to solve problems.

Develop partnerships with other Ivy Tech Workday module analysts, users, and/or administrators.

Research, collaborate and contribute to Workday community user groups.

Develop and provide training to end-users.

Act as a point of contact for the internal business user(s).

Act as a named support contact with Workday - managing communications with Workday. Support for designated modules.

Provide functional support of technical integrations.

Some travel may be required within the state.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college/university.

Minimum 3 years of business analysis, technical business analysis &/or project management.

Strong foundation in analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must be able to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Demonstrate the ability to analyze and document processes, procedures, etc.

Have a strong foundation in customer service mentality with excellent communication skills.

Excellent documentation skills (samples of nonproprietary documentation maybe be asked for review).

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a background and/or experience in computer science, finance, or accounting.
