Business Analyst- College of Arts and Sciences

Regular, Full-Time, Market Range 09, Exempt

The College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) seeks a Business Analyst to assist the college in evaluation and improvement of its workflows, policies, and procedures. As the largest individual college at the University of Tennessee, the CAS Administration office supports the staff and faculty of 22 departments. The Business Analyst will use real-time data and feedback from stakeholders to ensure that the CAS Administration is efficiently serving the needs of the college, while recognizing areas of potential growth and providing solutions to complex issues. The Business Analyst should be prepared to design, implement, and continuously manage projects and systems that will ensure operational excellence throughout the departments.

 



Qualifications

 

Job Functions:

Business Analysis:

·         Conduct data analysis and collect stakeholder feedback to identify areas of improvement and increased efficiencies to support decision making.

·         Independently develop and maintain databases and reporting systems for end-user functionality.

·         Identify business inefficiencies to develop and implement data-based solutions.

·         Collaborate with stakeholders to identify bottlenecks and gaps in processes.

·         Serve as liaison between technical and end-user stakeholders.

 

Training:

·         Design and deliver training programs, both independently and with subject matter experts, that will be shared with CAS Administration to improve processes.

·         Conduct needs assessments using department feedback, and customize training to promote induvial and departmental growth.

·         Continuously evaluate training programs to ensure they remain effective and promote the best trends and practices.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree with 2-3 years of demonstrated Experience in process improvement analysis or professional experience in data analysis.

·         OR

·         High School Diploma with 5 years of demonstrated Experience in process improvement analysis or professional experience in data analysis.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

o   Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.

o   Knowledge of IRIS or other administrative support system in a higher education or business setting.

o   Demonstrated knowledge of prior project and workflow management.

o   Strong preference will be given to individuals with demonstrated knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
