About the Opportunity

The Division of Information Technology Services is seeking a highly driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to fill the role of Business Analysis Manager. The ideal candidate for this position is a proven leader, problem solver, and critical thinker.  As a Business Analysis Manager, you will lead a team of Business Analysts that identify stakeholder needs, determine IT solutions to business problems, and present findings and recommendations at all levels of the organization. You should have strong writing and communication skills and be able to build effective relationships with all stakeholders while driving innovation and customer satisfaction. This position requires a high level of cross-functional collaboration, teamwork, and excellent communication, with the ability to lead and develop the business analysis team. In addition, you will lead business analysis efforts including business case development, requirements elicitation, process workflows, testing, and other analysis tasks as required.

To ensure that essential services are provided to the University community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.

This is a Hybrid position. You will be required to come into the Boston office at least 3 days per week.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position will not be sponsored for a work visa.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, or other related field.

Certification in Business Analysis (e.g. CBAP, CCBA, IIBA)

2-3 years of experience leading a team of business analysts

Demonstrated experience with IT concepts and related strategies/technologies, including analytics, digital, cloud, and general IT system/database architecture design.

Demonstrated experience managing requirements on large, enterprise implementations.

Strong facilitation, negotiation, and problem solving skills. This role must be able to facilitate requirements definition, including business process flows, future process definition, systems requirements, and persona/user journey documentation.

Experience working on both product and project teams, with agile.

Higher education experience a plus, including exposure to academic and research

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Lead the Business Analysis Team

Facilitate the establishment of team structure and roles, hiring and on-boarding Analysts and ensuring adequate resource and talent allocation.

Manage employee/team performance by setting objectives, performance metrics, and standards and conducting performance reviews.

Manage escalated project issues.

Develop standards and training to ensure the business analysis team remains aligned with the direction of technology and the university.

Provide Functional Expertise in Business Analysis

Participate in planning and developing university-wide IT strategies.

Engage with key business and IT stakeholders to identify changing business priorities and requirements and introduce new processes and technology to enhance the Business Analysis service offering.

Lead the development of business cases, cost/benefit analyses, and risk assessments for various technology projects.

Perform Senior Business Analyst duties on projects as assigned.

Assist with testing and training efforts on projects as required.

Develop Methodologies

Establish standards for Business Analysis, including methodologies, metrics, requirements, and tools.

Ensure Analysts are adequately certified and/or trained.
