Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | The Department of Engineering Information Technology (EIT) of the A. James Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park is seeking a Business Affairs Coordinator to be a part of the department’s Business and Administration team. In this role, the incumbent coordinates EIT’s business operations that include human resources, procurement, and travel; performs professional accounting work such as maintaining a shadow system and making journal entries and allocating expenses and reconciliation; processes, reconciles and tracks accounts payable and receivables,purchase requisitions, disbursement vouchers; tracks travel expenses; and assists the Assistant Director and Assistant Dean in the department’s business affairs with these functions as and when required. This position must adhere to university human resources and financial management standards, general management and accounting principles, practices, methods, and techniques. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential to this position. A successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply various policies and procedures to real-world situations. In addition, a successful candidate must be positive, detail oriented, and self-motivated. The A.
