Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business (RCB) is the sixth-largest business school in the country, with an enrollment of approximately 8,000 students. Robinson College faculty and staff offices are located at 35 Broad Street as well as 55 Park Place. The college is in the process of consolidating everyone into 55 Park Place. Currently, two floors have been renovated to meet student learning and collaboration needs. One of those floors is the 11th floor, which consists of 34,000sf of classrooms, a tutoring center, and an abundance of student study space. The 11th floor is used for weekday undergraduate and graduate classes from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

J. Mack Robinson College of Business is seeking (1)  Business Affairs Coordinator who has a high level of attention to detail and a methodical and intentional approach to their work.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate for the Business Affairs Coordinator assumes responsibility for making critical decisions independently to ensure classes located at 55 Park Place are scheduled and supported accurately and appropriately. This is a customer service-focused role that has the potential to interact with all Robinson faculty, staff, and students, as well as various service departments within the university.

 
On a day-to-day basis, the Business Affairs Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining the classroom schedule to ensure appropriate rooms are reserved and staffing is scheduled. This requires open communication with the college scheduler to ensure that changes are captured quickly and correctly.
  • Communicating classroom operational processes to faculty and addressing related questions and concerns.
  • Managing the departmental work center to prioritize, address, and distribute all custodial, maintenance, access control, and ancillary requests for the downtown Robinson College community.
  • Communicating building operational processes to faculty and staff.
  • Maintaining the access control database for the college, including granting building and room access to Robinson faculty, staff, and students.
  • Supporting the Assistant Director in developing processes and procedures around space scheduling and facility use.
  • Assisting the Manager with interviewing, scheduling, and supporting the student staff team.
  • Maintaining departmental records for student assistant employees, inventory tracking, and college-wide onboarding/offboarding.
  • Responsible for scheduling all internal departmental meetings.
  • Assisting with Intranet updates, departmental communications, and social media.
  • Maintaining billing contacts and logs for college phone charges.
  • Supporting the entire department with operational responsibilities as needed. Cross-training in other departmental responsibilities to act as a backup during absences.

  • Optional Retirement Plan -- ORP is a 401(a) Defined Contribution Plan. Employees contribute 6%, and USG contributes 9.24% to the plan. Employees are immediately vested.
  • Teacher Retirement System -- TRS is a Defined Benefit Plan, a traditional public pension plan. Employees contribute 6%, and USG contributes 19.81% to the plan. Your retirement benefit is calculated by factoring in years of service, final salary, and a 2% multiplier. Employees are vested after 10 years.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of business management experience or a combination of education and related experience.
