Job Overview

The College of Engineering and Applied Science is seeking a Building Service Coordinator to support the college’s day-to-day facilities operations. Under general supervision from a designated administrator, the Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate and oversee moves, events, equipment; to furnish, receive and distribute equipment and supplies; and report, plan and coordinate repairs.


Essential Functions
  • Monitor the cleanliness and working order of building spaces, such as conference rooms, classrooms, elevators, bathrooms and loading docks.
  • Initiate work orders for repairs, phone, data and key orders.
  • Plan and coordinate repairs/alterations and renovation projects.
  • Serve as liaison with maintenance, operations, staff vendors, contract partners and outside contractors to ensure that buildings are properly maintained.
  • Coordinate the receiving and distribution operations, including gas cylinders and shred bin deliveries and returns.
  • Conduct furniture and equipment moves and setups in offices, classrooms, laboratories and public spaces.
  • Coordinate service functions including shipping/receiving, supplies, deliveries, equipment moves and repairs, surplus, etc.
  • Serve on internal and university-wide committees.
  • Monitoring of key issuance policy, inventory and security issues.
  • May supervise or coordinate special projects.
  • Hire, supervise and train student employees; plan and administer daily work assignments and approve timesheets.
  • Ensure the safety of all CEAS students, staff and faculty by following all College of Engineering and Applied Science safety requirements and protocols daily.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Two (2) years of related experience.


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Computer skills to utilize various web-based application software and training. 
  • Must be able to lift 60-100 pounds.
