Position Information

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, the Building Operations Coordinator (BOC) for the Highlander Union Building (HUB) is a critical member that makes independent decisions and leads services throughout the building. The BOC will help assist the building operations that include: Digital Signage, Lost & Found, Equipment Rental, Latitude 55 Gaming Area, and customer satisfaction analysis. The BOC is responsible for direct supervision and direction over the HUB Service Associates and all Highlander Union Building service areas including the Information Desk, Latitude 55 Lounge, and Student Success Center. The BOC will guide, train, and assess all student employees under the Building Operations umbrella that include the Service Associates at the three different service areas within the complex. The BOC is also responsible for providing comprehensive support to the department and Assistant Director in the areas of Audio/Visual management and digital signage reservations. The BOC will serve as the official liaison between Multimedia Technologies and the Highlander Union which includes the monthly follow up meetings with the two departments. The incumbent will also manage and reintroduce the digital signage services the Highlander Union manages throughout the building. The incumbent will also support general Student Affairs functions and events as needed. This position will provide a consistent supervisor for all student service associates that work at the Highlander Union service stations and will provide support to the Assistant Directors overall operations.

The full salary range for the Building Operations Coordinator for the Highlander Union Building is $21.89 - $36.35 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $21.89 - $25.50 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.

Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization.

Knowledge on collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data, as well as developing verbal and written presentations regarding assessment of the data collected.

Student development experience and/or served in a mentorship role through knowledge of advising and counseling techniques

Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of university and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.

Knowledge and ability to plan, acquire, and analyze goods and services available for student unions
