The Building Access department in Facility Management is seeking a Building Access Technician I to assist with the normal operating shop functions.  Do you re-key locks, maintain card access systems and install door hardware, card readers and other components of card access systems?  Do you have the attention to detail to maintain and update information in the secure data computer and keep records of all key bittings on campus?   We are seeking you to bring your experience to work with the Building Access Supervisor and team.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience

Two years of experience in a related field such as locksmith, carpentry or electronics

Valid Class “C” Texas driver’s license – Must be able to obtain a valid State of Texas Class “C” driver’s license within 30 days of employment.  The inability to obtain the valid Class “C” Texas driver’s license within the 30 days may result in termination.

This position requires the ability to be “on-call” for after hours emergencies on a rotating schedule, the ability to work overtime or special hours as needed and the ability to travel to various locations throughout the campus to perform essential functions. 

The well-qualified candidate will have more than two years of experience in a related field such as locksmith, carpentry or electronics and have training in online and stand alone card access systems.
