Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University, is seeking a Budget Analyst III for NJMS- Department of Medicine. Under close supervision this position, performs accounting work. The Budget Analyst, reviews expenditures and prepares operating budgets for the Department of Medicine to ensure conformance to budgetary limits. This role has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Prepares or assists in preparing working budgets.
• Relies on pre-established guidelines and instructions to perform the functions of the position.
• Assists in all aspects of the budgeting process for the departments, including forecasting/modeling, accounting, reporting and financial analysis.
• Assists in the preparation of the academic and grant budgets.
• Interacts with the Finance and Grants departments to insure proper tracking of state third party funding sources.
• Assists in the processing of budget adjustments and transfers, changes of source of funds, salary transfers, purchase requisitions and expense reimbursements.
• Maintains via computer systems, academic and grant account funds availability on a regular basis.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Accounting, Finance or a related field plus one (1) year of experience in the maintenance of budgeting and fiscal records.
• Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
