Job Summary:

Broomfield Hospital Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation is a joint venture between UCHealth and Boulder Community Health which serves the residents of Boulder County and surrounding areas. This state of the art facility provides access to specialized inpatient rehabilitation programs and innovative equipment and technology for patients recovering from conditions such as stroke, other neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic conditions and amputations. A PM&R Medical Director is desired who can facilitate the growth of this new venture and improve the level of care provided. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong clinical background as an inpatient physiatrist, as well as experience in leadership or administrative roles. The successful applicant will work closely with the executive management team to implement strategies that enhance patient care and improve our physiatric practice.

The Medical Director will be employed by the University of Colorado School of Medicine and report directly to the Chairman of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.


Examples of Work Performed:

  • Collaborate with hospital administration to update, amend, and replace medical policies pertaining to inpatient rehabilitation
  • Manage the inpatient rehabilitation team of Physicians/APPs and help facilitate compliance with hospital policies when providing care
  • Work directly with providers to educate them on our care process and determine what can be done to improve overall care quality
  • Participate/assist in activities that are designed to improve patient care and enhance relationships with providers
  • Develop ongoing relationships with the medical community and promote the inpatient rehabilitation program
  • Provide services to the rehabilitation unit and the unit’s patients a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Facilitate compliance with CMS criteria for acute inpatient rehabilitation units

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. required
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Valid license to practice medicine in Colorado required
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical medicine
  • Expertise in the Post-Acute Care field, including general knowledge of requirements of regulatory and accreditation standards for inpatient rehabilitation

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a medical leadership role is desirable

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the rehabilitation team and develop relationships within the medical community
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
