Position Summary

The University of New Mexico – Los Alamos Branch is searching for a highly motivated person to join our Student Services team. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for establishing, administering, and coordinating a range of prospective student recruitment activities and serve as a liaison for strengthening Dual Credit enrollment programming. This incumbent will travel within Northern New Mexico to interact with prospective students and families and serve as a liaison and representative with internal and external constituencies, agencies, and institutions. This position will also coordinate with marketing and communications staff to develop and implement promotional events and materials. 

The ideal candidate will be student focused, have an energetic personality, and be able to professionally represent the institution with prospective students as well as with administrative leadership from partner schools and institutions. The ability to prepare and deliver small and large group presentations, work independently, and make professional and sound decisions is essential. There will be some required evening and weekend work at recruitment events and the ability to travel is required to fulfill job duties.

Conditions of Employment
  • A valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license within thirty days of hire, is required for this job.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications


Experience in/with:

- Prior experience delivering presentations to small and large groups. 
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated skills in problems solving, multi-tasking, and analyzing programmatic requirements and policies.
- Direct contact and leadership experience within the last three years with secondary and post-secondary level students.
- Excellent customer service and team based skills.
- Experience working with varied populations including students, faculty, staff and community; in particular within the diverse communities of Northern New Mexico.
- Demonstrated skills in database management and computer applications.
