Work Schedule Summary
Position is expected to start 5/27/24 and end 8/16/24.
Maximum of 400 hours (10 weeks), 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. No work will be performed on the following holidays – May 28 and July 4

Job Duty Function Internship
Job Duties/Responsibilities
• Work with Extension Educator and 4-H Program Coordinator to coordinate and implement hands-on, educational youth program events and activities.
• Engage with clientele of all ages, backgrounds, and interests.
• Interact with the public, promoting University of Idaho Extension programs, especially hands-on youth learning involving science, technology, and health and nutrition.
• Lead or assist with camps and classes for youth and adults.
• Assist with Boundary County 4-H events and activities.

Position Qualifications


Required Qualifications
• Must have completed a minimum of one semester (12 Credits) at an Idaho public university or an Idaho public university college student and currently enrolled for the next semester. Priority will be given to UI student applications.
• Must provide own transportation and have the ability to travel to multiple worksites.
• Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
• Outgoing and comfortable working with the public (youth and adults) and volunteers.
• Self-motivated and works independently.
• Has completed coursework in Family and Consumer Sciences, Technology, Science, Agriculture, and/or Education.
• Experience answering phones, responding to email, communication through UI webpages and social media.
• Enjoys working in a variety of settings and environments with diverse audiences.
• Team player and works well with others.
