The Primary Care Health Policy Division in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine would like to hire a Biostatistician (Program Evaluation Coordinator) to assist with research and program evaluation for multiple inter-professional programs. The candidate will be responsible for research and program evaluation activities for multiple programs and will be expected to work with a variety of interprofessional stakeholders including the program management/evaluation teams; project leaders from multiple colleges; local, state, and federal partners; clinicians; and community members and organizations. The candidate is expected to be able to work independently on multiple projects and will report to the Division Director. The work will vary from day to day but will generally include activities such as meeting attendance, the development of evaluation protocols, survey and/or interview instrument design, data management and analysis, interpretation of results, preparation of reports, and publication of scholarly work.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Quantitative Psychology, Mathematics or related field, AND:

  • 12 months professional experience in study design, instrument development, data collection and analysis and report preparation.

Equivalent/ Substitution: Will accept a Bachelor's Degree and 24 months of equivalent experience in lieu of the Master's degree for a total of 36 months experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of designing research studies.
  • Knowledge of programming SAS and other statistical programs.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with and analyze large data sets.
  • Experience in program evaluation and using Microsoft Excel, SPSS, REDCap, and Power Bi.
  • Experience working on inter-professional teams.

Certifications: None.

Advertised Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods. 
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Standard Office Environment.

Departmental Preferences:

  • The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in a field that is focused on analytics and data management such as biostatistics/epidemiology, library and information studies, educational psychology, information technology, etc.
  • Experience working in a health sciences center environment is preferred.
  • Programming experience related to data analysis (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python) is preferred.
