The Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology & Immunology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Biostatistician Programmer to work at the UHealth Campus. The Biostatistician Programmer develops and modifies software under occasional guidance. Designs, codes, performs benchmark testing, and debugging of programs. Implements small projects or components or large projects. Ability to solve medium to complex problems.

  • Develops or modifies code.

  • Provides appropriate documentation for all code development and program modification.

  • Ensures integrity and security of institutional data.

  • Produces and supports systems that extract data from clinical databases and builds analysis databases composed of SAS datasets.

  • Contributes to the development of documentation for the collecting, handling, reviewing, and cleaning of clinical data to provide a high-quality clinical database .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Biostatistics, and/or Bioinformatics

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

  • Demonstrates proficiency programming and can work on tasks independently without support from others for moderate to difficult programs.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of genetic data quality control and analysis in clinical research using techniques such as GWAS and TWAS.

  • Demonstrates the ability to conduct PheWAS analysis and create publication quality figures from the results.

  • Problem Solving/ Complexity of work: Analyze moderately complex problems using technical experience and judgment.

  • Performs Excellent Work: Engages regularly in formal and informal dialogue about quality; directly addresses quality issues promptly.

  • Demonstrates Accountability: Demonstrates a sense of ownership, focusing on and driving critical issues to closure.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
