Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or related field and three years of related experience. Additional experience may not be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits.  Grade EG Salary Minimum $48,421

Preferred Qualifications
  • Applied research experience in statistical analysis and support.
  • Epidemiological and clinical study analytical experience.
  • Familiar with multiple statistical packages including SAS and R.
  • Experience conducting analyses with high-dimensional data would be beneficial.
Position Description

The University of Louisville, Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute seeks candidates for a full-time Biostatistician II position with the Division of Environmental Medicine. This position requires experience with SAS and other statistical software packages as well as experience with laboratory-based research, human studies, or environmental studies. Familiarity with statistical methodology and application is essential. The employee must be also able to contribute to study design, provide reliable interpretation of study results, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts. Candidates with experience conducting secondary data analyses of epidemiologic cohorts such as the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), Framingham Heart Study, Jackson Heart Study, The Reasons for Geographic and Racial Difference in Stroke (REGARDS) study, Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA), or Project VIVA are strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a team and independently to accomplish these goals. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Organize and conduct statistical analysis of data generated from study results.
  • Data management, analysis and interpretation of results in co-authored scientific publications and presentations.
  • Inform Principal Investigators of data analysis results on consistent basis; prepare written reports and documents pertaining to data management, research methodology and study results.
  • Assist with the planning and development of research studies/grant proposals and provide insight regarding their statistical validity.
  • Assist with the preparation of manuscripts by providing statistical expertise and reviewing manuscript data.
  • Related duties as required.
