Position Highlights | Biosphere 2 is seeking a dedicated Biostatistician II for an extended temporary position. This position aims to advance our understanding of carbon markets and their impact on climate change mitigation specifically regarding Agrovoltaic research. It is designed to integrate within Biosphere 2's innovative and interdisciplinary research environment. The candidate will engage in crucial tasks such as developing project designs and translating complex data into accessible information for stakeholders. The ideal candidate will actively seek partnerships and joint ventures that can aid in the advancement of Biosphere 2 Agrovoltaics research objectives, particularly in the realm of carbon markets. Biosphere 2 advances our understanding of natural and human-made ecosystems through integrated research that drives the discovery and development of interventions that increase the resilience and sustainability of Earth systems and human quality of life. We advance research in our unique facilities, conduct interdisciplinary science education, and foster leadership initiatives focused on developing scalable solutions for our planet and beyond. This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.
This position will be for 24 months. Duties & Responsibilities | Duties and Responsibilities: · Determine the carbon credit value of Agrivoltaics and its various configurations and how best quantify this value for both the agricultural and electrical communities. Develop, oversee, and manage project designs pertinent to carbon markets with an emphasis on Agrovoltaic research. · Plan and administer research projects, actively collaborating with a spectrum of PIs and stakeholders. Synthesize information across diverse subjects such as public policy, geography, ecology, agriculture and political science. · Conduct in-depth research to gauge Biosphere 2's potential as a testing ground for carbon methodologies. Translate complex carbon market data into accessible formats for stakeholders. Offer insights into the carbon project development process for researchers, scientific staff, and stakeholders. · Craft persuasive narratives showcasing the environmental impacts of carbon credits. Co-author academic articles, promoting collaborative research. · Additional duties may be assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · A robust understanding of carbon credits, emission regulations, standards, and methodologies. · Proven expertise in carbon credit development, emission management, ESG reporting, or associated fields. · Capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and establish partnerships. · Strong methodological skills and an ability to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research. |
