Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or related field and one year of related experience. Additional experience may not be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EF Salary Minimum $47,476

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years experience as a Biostatistician.
  • Expert knowledge of SAS or R. Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of statistical theory and application, parametric methods such as linear and nonlinear modeling, and non-parametric methods.
Position Description

Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis support for the Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Center within the Department of Neurosurgery.

Qualitative analysis responsibilities will include:

  • transcription of audio material into text
  • qualitative coding 
  • qualitative data analysis

Quantitative data analysis responsibilities will include:

  • gather the data from multiple sources, prepare the data for statistical analysis, suggest appropriate data format for research projects from statistical consideration, review the original data for quality, create the analysis datasets for the specific study objectives
  • perform statistical analysis of research projects by writing hands-on statistical programming using statistical software (such as SAS, R, ...). Statistical analyses include but are not limited to: descriptive statistics, inferential statistics (parametric and non-parametric methods including but not limited to general and generalized linear modeling, bivariate tests such as t-test and paired t-test, Wilcoxon Rank Sum and signed test, chi-square test, kruskal wallis test and more)
  • provide statistical reports in different formats such as tables, listings, figures, other requested outputs; communicate results to research staff and faculty in understandable language and help with interpretation of statistical analysis and results
