Join us as a scientific leader in groundbreaking quantitative proteomics to commercialize assay workflows and biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of human disease, and preventive health. The newly formed Precision Biomarkers Laboratories (PBL) at Cedar-Sinai, is seeking a candidate with comprehensive experience in the development of novel, high-performance quantitative ELISA assays with access to three different automated platforms. Experience in cell-free protein synthesis is also highly desired.

This position requires an individual with outstanding technical skills and scientific experience as well as excellent communication and collaborative skills. The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced clinical and product development environment to translate insights using proteomics into biomarker hypotheses that can be verified in large cohort studies.

Department-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Direct experience developing of state of the art proteomic workflows, developing technology and working independently.
  • Experience across the entire proteomic workflow from sample prep to data analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of various quantitation technologies and their clinical applications.
  • Strong theoretical understanding of protein biochemistry and practical knowledge of analytical validation.
  • Extensive experience in instrumentation, trouble shooting, QC, standardization for proteomics workflow and pipeline development.
  • Ability to conduct data analysis and interpret biological meaning.
  • Demonstrated scientific productivity and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Willingness to think outside of the box to drive the implementation of innovative proteomic workflows that align with the business unit objectives.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry or related science/engineering field required. Master's or Doctorate degree is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • BSc/MS/Ph.D. with at least 2 years of professional experience in ELISA proteomics especially in areas with direct application to human health.
  • Experience with immunoaffinity, molecular biology, and cell culture is desirable.
  • Previous industry experience is a plus.
  • Demonstration of subject matter expertise through study designs and superior technical customer service.
